Photographer's Note
This is Beijing Lu (road) in Guangzhou, one of the most popular streets in the city itself.
The red lanterns really made me want to take this picture along with the sea of heads underneath them.
Red in China or to the Chinese means prosperity and happiness, red is also seen in marriages, where the wife to be wears a red dress.
The street as you can see is absolutely filled with people buying their New Year goods, to start a fresh as from January the 22nd for two weeks on.
There will be Lion Dancing and Dragon dancing on the streets to bring good luck for everyone, it is a myth and superstition but many Chinese people want to believe in it.
Please dont try counting the number of lanterns but enjoy the pictures

Probably very hard to have gotten a better angle, but, the head on the right and bottom take away from the photo. Also could do with a bit more kick. I did a ws on it to see what could be done.

Nice echoes between the round lanterns and the heads below, I don't think there's a million but there's certainly a lot!
Happy new year.

I know this view, typical for Spring Festival. I wanted to show also, so many people in parks, but my park is smaller - it is Honghu Park, Luohu, Shenzhen. Crowd is great, you showed, how many people in China, I like it.
