Photographer's Note
Again at the Beijing Ghost Market one can find many interesting items for sale. I thought this small section of someone's wares was intersting. The art, for a moment, has a life like feel. Then you notice its on the ground, flat, with a few items as place holders also for sale. Some interesting art found here. Let me know what you think!

Hello David, it took me some time to realize that it is actually a painting. The old lady is so live that seems like she pops out of the canvas. Excellent capture of the amazing painting. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
Kostas.

Hello David.
I'm with Kostas; I didn't at first realise this woman was not real! I think your composition has to be praised here, as well as your ability to see the potential in this shot. You're right about the almost 3d effect of the artwork, which is accentuated by the objects around it. Really a very pleasing photo with wonderful colours and nice displacement of objects within the frame.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello David,
This is a really intriguing image with its combination of trompel'oeil, still life and collage effects. The colours are harmonious and your close framing has resulted in a good pattern of shapes without detracting from the central, beautifully executed, portrait. My grandmother wore exactly that expression when needle-threading - I probably now do the same!!
A very enjoyable and, for me, memorable image.
Best wishes....Maggie
