Photographer's Note

I'm not sure whether one can classify a wedge as a piece of architecture; however, the image shows the detail of the bottom of a giant gate door, where the wedge is used as a stopper. It was the biggest door stopper I have ever seen, yet most things are gigantic in Beijing. This is another view from the Forbidden Palace, within the Forbidden City.

Tec: The image was scanned in and then colour adjusted to more closely reflect the true image. Saturation increased by 10, hue adjustment of 5 and midtones lightened a little in ps.
