Photographer's Note
There seems to be a fascination toward sticks by some Chinese. Here at the Ghost Market in Beijing (Punjiayuan) sticks are rarely displayed. But today someone has them and many come by and examine and purchase them. A special walking stick perhaps with properties appreciated by some traditional Chinese people.

Hello David,
An unusual subject - and one to be taken very seriously it seems! A good daily life capture, made even more effective by the combination of neutral colours with touches of orange.
An enjoyable post, I think.
Best wishes....Maggie

Hello David,
as always: interesting daily life scene :) You choose excellent compositions and interesting subjects for your photos! I also like your notes to photos very much.
Hmm... than man in the centre, in the BG, seems to be looking at you and wondering why you are taking a photo and what is so curious about this ordinary scene?.... :)
Kind regards,
Elena

Well David you have caught my fascination with this one too - the quest for the perfect stick! Wonderful sharpness and clarity with this one and the light is very well caught too - markets can be difficult places to get good crowd shots but here the separation between people across the frame works very well ........how on earth did the Ghost market get its name? - That is fascinating too!
best wishes Kev
