Near the Yuyuan Garden, the Huxinting tea pavilion built in the middle of a pond in 1784. It would be Shanghai's oldest tea house ... all the charm of traditional Chinese architecture and flavors.

Bonjour Jean

It does not look nearly as crowded as when I was there in 2002. Good sharpness and wonderful colour, saturation and framing, with nice reflections in the water. Tfs!

Hell Jean,

This is a beautiful scene, with the pagoda styled tea house situated in the water and clear evidence of the popularity of the verandahs.
I like how you have used the trees to create a natural frame and how you have included details of the steps and their reflections. It appears that there are ducks enjoying the situation, too!

Bonjour Jean,

La présence des personnes anime la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du pavillon de thé Huxinting. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Je connais de pires endroits à visiter que la Chine au mois de septembre. C'est vrai qu'elle est charmante cette vieille architecture chinoise. Belle composition.

I have to admit, China has risen on my to-see-list, I never really wanted to go a few years ago. I wonder if this is a touristy place or more real. Looks to be quite popular, sweet place for photos, this one turned out well in this light. cheers

it is interesting to see how from the previous Chinese architecture now you smoothly move to the real Chinese structure.
The architecture here is amazing indeed. I am looking forward to your reportage.
Plenty of shadow here but it didn't stop you to well demonstrate the beauty of this place.
Wee selected point of view across the pond and nice framing with the tree branches from above.

J'ai raté le début de votre nouvelle série.
Auparavant, je me suis rendu deux fois en Chine mais j'ai jamais visité Shanghai.
Quelle magnifique maison de thé! Et pas du tout petit.
Magnifique avec les ponts de bois au-dessus de l'eau et avec la statue et les fleurs dans l'étang.
Les toits sont merveilleux!
