Photographer's Note
A modern Chinese kid on an almost-modern Chinese bicycle, cycling down Hong Kong Road, the main artery along Qingdao's southern coastline. Though bicycles are not very popular in Qingdao, children and enthusiasts are still giving motorists a run for their tar.
I like the way the colours of the road markings are mirrored in the boy's figure, and the strength of the lines in the background.
This shot was taken very quickly, unfortunately cutting out the rear of his back tyre. The tightness of the bottom and top crops seemed to be necessary to restore balance to the image.
Tech: Resize, unsharp mask, crop.
