Photographer's Note

Babang or Palpung Gompa, perched at 3900 m high is an isolated 12th century Kagyupa monastery in Western Sichuan province, about 70 km from Dege.
The main building is famous for its huge size, complex design, and craftsmanship - so splendid that it has been called the "Little Potala Palace". It has undergone important restoration & hosts a large number of monks as well as a young huofo (living buddha)
