Photographer's Note

This is literally a breathtaking view.
Since the altitude here is about 3500m, you really run out of breath while climbing. At least me, I live on sealevel and am definitely not used to heights.

These mountains are in Sichuan, west of Chengdu. Close to Wolong (famous for it's panda centre) and next to Siguniangshan (four girls mountains). With many peaks over 5000m high and some even over 6000m, the area is popular for mountainering.

This area took a severe hit by the 2008 earthquake, and most (big) hotels in Rilong are closed since that day, due to risks of collapse. When I visited they were building new ones. Also the road through the mountains to Chengdu had to be rebuilt, but when it re-opens again, the tourists will flock into the beautiful area around Rilong like before the quake.
