Photographer's Note

This is a part of the cavalry of the so-called terracotta army in Xi'an. The army was guarding the still unopened burial mound of the first emperor of Qin. The army is standing in large halls erected above the excavation pits. It is amazing to see how skilled the artisans have already been in that times in China. And it is horrible to see how paranoid totalitarian absolut rulers can become.
