Photographer's Note

After visiting a zinc project in the mountains we were on the long journey back to Zhengzhou. Rain had been heavy and the roads were very bad. At one point part of the road had been washed out and was being repaired. Traffic was lined up on both sides of the break and people were streching their legs and walking up to see the road being repaired. Making the most of the opportunity, I went walking along the muddy road taking photos of the people. A number of buses were waiting and after pointing to my camera and getting the ok, I started photographing the passengers.

I like this photo. I like the gentle friendliness of the man, the curiosity of the boy and slight smile and the eyes of the lady.
