When in Rome, do as the Romans?
I guess that depends...


Dehang is a Miao (or Hmong) village located 24 kilometers from of Jishou city in Hunan province.

The Miao (or Hmong) are one of the most widespread minorities in the Far East. There are Hmong villages in China, Laos and Vietnam.

In Hmong, “Dehang” means beautiful valley. I just read that these days you have to pay to enter the village. This was not the case when we visited it.


This picture shows meat in a local restaurant. It's always a bit of challenge.
When in Rome, do as the Romans?
