Photographer's Note

Wandering around outside the Bayon temple I saw this solitary monk, umbrella protecting him from the hot Cambodian sun.

When I glanced back at him I had this image of a man alone walking a long road - which, I guess, is symbolic of the life of a monk. The peaceful surroundings seemed in keeping with his demeanour as well.

Obviously some post-processing of a sort I don't normally do - and I know many don't like this effect. But I thought I'd try it!

Selected the orange robe, inverted selection, converted to b/w and a touch of saturation increase on the robe itself. And cropped, resized, frame added.

Part of my Cambodia travelogue
