Photographer's Note

Walking along the riverfront in Phnom Penh and the heavens opened, we tried to run to one of the many drinks places, but this rain was torrential, soaking us in minutes. The nearest form of shelter was an opensided pavillion, it didnt really keep us dry, but what fun we had watching the local kids. The kids had quickly stripped themselves of their clothes and were running as fast as possible and diving across the stoned floor pavillion at great speeds. A game that had obviously been played many times, some of the older children could steer themselves, even bump down the stone stairs. The very young children, yet unable to master the technique themselves were screaming with delight as older brothers skimmed them across the floor.
It was very difficult to try to take any photos as the rain was coming in horizontally and the camera was wet in no time, plus the light was terrible. But I wanted to try to give you a feel of the fun that was being had that wet morning.
