Photographer's Note

Much of the wall carvings in and around Angkor Wat has been restored to fine detail, although giving back its artistic wealth, it also somewhat results in a slightly "manufactured" feel. The fine details are too sharp and clear when set among its original corridors of very worn stone pillars.

Light from the late evening sun bathes the stone surfaces of Angkor Wat in very warm shades. See how low an angle it enters between the pillars at around 4.30pm.
