Photographer's Note
The old Khmer capital of Angkor Wat has over 100 temples, in addition to the 2 well known ones of Angkor Wat & Angkor Thom. This is Tha Promh, which would fall apart, if the trees were removed. It's been left in a partial state of decay, whereas many other temples have been repaired. No sign of Lara Croft, Tombraider, when I was there.

Good POV to show a "strangler" tree at work, next to one of the intact art pieces.Seems hard to fathom what the tree lives on, it looks like it is just sitting on rock.
Two points - I'd crop the left 20% or so, the path and dark shadows don't add anything. The colours are a little washed out due to the scanning. I don't know what settings you use, or what scanner, but it doesn't have the punch of a decent print.

Great picture, I love the roots in this picture, it really shows how old the place is, the natural roots, just grow wherever and however they want, really good and natural

This tree looks like it could have inspired Tolkien's Old Man Willow in the Old Forest, slyly extending its roots to swallow careless and tired travellers :). Apparently a good friend of the place that gave life to it as well. Nice shot!

Hello Chris: I have fascination for the roots, mainly when they are ingrained or grasped something. I have a picture titled ingrained branches it is a tree that grew on another tree and their roots hang and they become the branches of the other tree. I appreciate the details in the way staggered in that they go extending and adapting. The details of the architecture are impressive, I believe that both are ingrained: the architecture of the tree and the tree of the architecture, interesting coalition. Cordial greetings. Excellent week beginning. *Ninfa Urania*

Chris, you should have said the old kmer capital of angkor ,not angkor wat. wat means temple, and angkor wat is but one of the 100 temples in the area. angkor is the complex and the ancient town. i love your shot! ta phom is my favorite temple...
