Villages like Kompong Phluk are called floating villages but are actually on tall stilts. I was there in early December at the start of the dry when water comes up to close to floor level. Paul(Paul VDV) is also posting photos at present from Cambodia and he visited Kompong Phluk in February, late in the wet season so when he posts photos from the village you will be amazed at how tall the stilts are.
As we entered wider waters approaching Kompong Phluk we came across our first sight of buildings with this being an amazing school surrounded by water. The stairs on each building disappear down under the water for when the water level drops.
You can see canoes transporting the school students.
