On to another temple, one that for some reason I've never posted photos of until now. This one is the Buddhist Bayon temple dating from the 12th or early 13th century. It is another massive and spectacular one that sat at the centre of the then capitol, Angkor Thom.
A key feature but barely visible here are masses of huge faces carved into the large number of towers. I'll show them closer up over the next couple of days.

Hello Ian,
Great capture of the impressive Bayon temple.
Good framing with the branches in both top corners.
I like the reflections in the water and the presence of the birds (herons?).
Unfortunately there were no puddles when I visited this temple.
Beautiful moment without hordes of visitors.
Best regards, Paul

Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepa stara arhitektura i priroda, dobro pokazano sa lepim bjama, kontratsom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Lep refleks na vodi i beli oblaci na plavomn nebu.
Lep Buddhist Bayon temple i fotografija.
Zelim vam sve najbolje u novoj nedelji koja je pocela.

Hello Ian,
It's a fantastic temple seen here from a less common angle. "Everyone" knows about the giant heads that are not seen here. You used the overhanging branches well to complement the symmetry of the temple view.

Hello Ian,
Not only is this a remarkable temple, in a superb setting, but you have composed the photograph with great skill, using the f/g trees to frame the scene and the water to reflect it.
Lovely natural colours!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian
You have captured this extraordinary place very well. There're lovely detail and colours in the old stonework and the picture shows how it has blended into the natural environment. That bit of reflections adds further interest. Very well taken.
Best regards

Hi Ian,
again I admire an amazing clarity in your photos from Cambodia, may be DEcember is the best time to visit.
The sharpness is stunning and you have well used the reflections in the water. The sky is so pretty as well.
Excellent quality work,

Hello Ian,
This temple looks great under the deep, blue sky, and I like the subtle reflections in the foreground, and all the earthy colors. It's always amazing to see a spot where others stood so long ago. Take care!
