Photographer's Note

Just north of the west entrance to Angkor Wat stands this statue of the Buddha. I didn't notice it until looking at my photos, but I don't believe the feet belong to this statue.

This shot was taken during my night tour of Angkor Wat and I used the exterior illumination to light this shot. I've added a workshop showing the same statue in the late afternoon.

Post-posting note: I spoke with the Director of the National Museum of Cambodia about my thoughts and he said the statue did belong with the feet. The bit at the back was typical of Angkoran era statues and supported the weakness of the ankles as the sculptures began to have thinner legs and lost the support of arches and/or staffs held by the statue.
