Photographer's Note

Now and then I feel that some photos are like fine wines: they get better after you stored them for a few years.

I saw this rather cute couple at the waterfront of central Phnom Penh, where lots of people gathered as the sun was setting to play games, buy snacks, meet friends or just enjoy the view of the river.

I took this photo 12 years ago. The man's curious hairstyle and his wife's gentle way of laying her arm on his shoulder have always made me smile. But it wasn't until last week I decided it could deserve a place on TE.

This is of course nothing special, but some of you may have noticed that nothing specials are special to me.

The river seen here is the Tonle Sap, flowing from the large lake of the same name. A short distance to the right outside the photo it joins the Mekong.

The map coordinates 11.57325 104.92893 will show you very approximately where I took the photo.
