Photographer's Note

Monks collecting alm, this religious tradition is continuing as monks still rely entirely on the generosity of alms to feed themselves and are not allowed to accept money to buy their own food. Giving alms, one of the oldest Buddhist rituals is not seen as charity but as a spiritual connection between laypeople and monasteries. Food is received with gratitude and reverence.

Monks' ordinary life and routine on the street of Phnom Penh, a similar scene is probably repeated everyday at roughly the same time..

Shooting location:
In the heart of city centre just outside the Royal Palace, characterised by the yellow walls.
