Photographer's Note
We were driving in the country side, in the Kandal province situated at about 15kms away from Phnom Penh, when we saw a group of people from Vietnam drying fish on racks.
******************
The Vietnamese constitute about 5% of the population of Cambodia, and is the largest ethnic minority. Vietnamese people began migrating to Cambodia as early as the 17th century. In 1863, when Cambodia became a French colony, many Vietnamese were brought to Cambodia by the French to work on plantations and occupy civil servant positions.
During the Lon Nol Regime (1970–1975) and Pol Pot regime (1975–1979), many of the Vietnamese living in Cambodia were killed. Others were either repatriated or escaped to Vietnam or Thailand. During the ten year Vietnamese occupation of Cambodia from 1979 until 1989 many of the Vietnamese who had previously lived in Cambodia returned...

Hello Marilyn
A wonderful daily life scene with vibrant color & good warm vs cold color contrasts between the yellow bamboo poles & the woman's blue attire. Excellent sharpness & good to have to parallel fish racks on a diagonal to add dynamism. The shallow dof works well here.

Bonne continuation chere amie,

Hello dear Marilyn
In the thumbnails it was difficult to decipher what they are drying. That's a lot of dry fish here. You used good focus on the central part creating bokeh both in the FG & the BG. Very effective. The two ladies are in sharp focus. Fine colours are luminosity
Best Regards
