Photographer's Note
Another picture from rural Cambodia. A lot of roads now are being built. I am so glad about it. And this picture is just showing you about both road condition and natural view of Cambodia. Palm trees are everywhere in Cambodia. I took this picture while I was on a motocycle to visit Cheung Ek (Killing Field museum). I felt like here I had contrasting color, and would be a good one. I hope you like it.

Hi Sothy,
I have mixed feelings about roads that are being built in rural areas. On the one hand these places get easy reachable and can improve life for those living there. On the other hand they are vulnerable to big bad industrial/western influences. Vulnerable to losing the beauty there now. Sharpness and colors are incredible, I really thought it was done with a DSLR. Looks like an excellent camera. TFS, Gilbert

Hi Sothy
THere is so much depth in this photo and the lines seem to converge into the middle. I like the contrasts between the rich red road and the green surroundings. The blue grey sky works well too.

Good shot Sothy!
Colours and perspective are great!A good sign of the changes the country is going through.
The palm tree must be really very high, I was just comparing it with the size of the cars.

Hi Sothy - the tropical skies make a nice contrast with the red road, andf the sugar palm adds a distinct cambodian stamp, actually this road doesn't look so bad, I rode on the road from Siem Reap to the thai border, that was something to remember!, I hope they fix that as well.

Hi Sothy
Good depth and shapness.
As mentionned, the contrast is quite good at ground level.I am less sure in the sky, maybe I am not used to the sky in these countries.
Is building a road a bad western influence? Not so sure,it all depends of the choice the local peoples will make, their choice is not ours to comment.Lets hope they will make the right ones and keep their identities and cultures, which I am sure they will do.
A good conversation.
Have a good day

Hello Sothy,
Unpaved road (its best for me) creates excellent depth and perspective with its stunning yellow color. Wonderful cloudy sky is very nice with real green textures. Riders on motorcycles are helping to us imagine the scale of your landscape view
Congratulations.

Hi Sothy
This composition of yours brings back nice memories of your country. I had taken one similar shot earlier this year, from a dusty cab as we rode from Poipet to Siem Reap...what appealed to me that time., the lovely contrasts, has been beautifully brought out here. Well done

Hello Sothy,
Awesome leading lines in this image, taking my eyes to the activity in a distance and even further to the fine clouds in the horizon!
I like to see the road is used while under construction, practical but never happens here...
Well composed image with wonderful colours and sharp fine details!

Hello Sothy!
Don't know how I managed to miss this picture but it is THE quitessential Cambodian view, that red dirt road going on forever, the slimp, tall palm tree, the ubiquitous motorbikes. A lovely, stirring shot.

Hi Sothy!
Beautiful, the colors are great! In my travels, it seemed to me, that the clouds in Camboia were the best of all the countries....big and puffy and white. And the red earth helps to make this pic so stunning. Just outside of Phenom Penh I think? Take care,

Hi Sothy,
Wonderful shot. The colours are so intense, great contrasts!
This road is a nice depth-creator, it seems to be devided in three parts by some stones, why is that?
Nice sky as background, great details.
Nice POV and good sharpness. Well presented work.
Good to have that long palm tree on the right side, it's a welcome big element in the shot.

Hi Sothy and everybody else
I have seen some of your other pictures, and also other Cambodian/rural pictures in TE, and I wonder why this one has 110 points?
Don't get me wrong, I am new here and I want to learn. What makes this picture so remarkable?
It is a nice shot... but 110 points?
You have more impressive pics with few points.

You have an interesting gallery with a lot of variety, Sothy. I like your pictures from Cambodia, especially this one - the contrast, depth and detail is excellent, and I like the way in which the road takes the eye into the centre of the frame. I must get around to posting more of my own photographs from Cambodia soon - it is such a photogenic country. Cheers . . . David
