Nice portrait and the child is probably wondering what this thing is that hides a face.
Great black and white with very good b&w tonal coverage.

Vraiment belle cette photo, j’adore comme toujours tes B&W .
Mais ce qui marche encore plus ici, c’est le cadrage au grand angle et la frimousse de ce petit bout d’homme.
J’adore et je la glisse instantanément dans mes favoris !

Bonjour Tom... I like your note that makes even more interesting what I see in the photo. I love the use of the wide angle here and the use of the focus giving a clear importance to the boy but somehow allowing us to notice the/his background in life.

Alors que je ne suis pas toujours un afficionado des portraits, je dois dire que la composition sublime celui-ci , avec des lignes de strcture qui surgissent de partout et une excellente triangulation inverse bras/tête... l'arrière plan est bien guidé par les rails et encadré par une profondeur de champ magnifique.
Pour ne rien gâter, la conversion est très réussie. conclusion : sur cette photo, tout est bon, comme dans le cochon...

C'est un superbe portrait que nous présente. J'aime bien l'utilisation du grand angle qui donne une perspective intéressante. Le noir et blanc est tout à fait approprié et les détails sont excellents, bravo!

Hello, Tom--
Nice work, the wide angle really brings him into the front of the frame and gives a more dynamic feel to the whole composition. The black and white is great, very full tonal range. Also, the three diagonals in the background just to the viewer's left of the child lead into him well.

SUPERB shot, Tom, with the ease of the boy with which he stares into your lens, your eyes, the tracks that recall Simon's series for me, and the absolutely delectable postprocessing that is balm to my tired eyes tonigh. Simply fantastic, and it goes into my second batch of favourites!

Je pense que l'essentiel a été dit. Les éloges sont bien mérités pour rendre justice aux qualités indéniables de cette image en termes de composition. La lecture est aisée le X allant de ses coudes à la pointe de ses doigts parfaitement dessiné, les tonalités bien ajustées.

Nice note, awesome b&w. One of the best bokehs I've seen from a Nikon lately. You really know how to use a shallow dof with that lens and body. The light on the boy is very good and your direct pov helps in giving a intimate character to the scene. Like it very much.

La perspective joue tres fort ici, Tom, encore un de ces portraits si bien maitrises dont tu as le secret. Et ce 7-55 n'est pas mechant non pus, accouple au D200...

Wonderful shot here... I just love the brilliant tones you've captured. Great use of B&W and that great lens.
