Photographer's Note

After 60 km struggling in the burning jungle we reached a little village with a shop to get us some refreshments and food. The children were gathered playing and found us very amusing.
It was quite isolated from the rest of the world and after a resting period we had to follow a broad sand track to reach Preah Vihear City.

Hello Gerrit,
Nice children who may not have been so used to meeting strange foreigners. They are well lined up across the dirt road and the photo gives us a good view of the environment where they live. The photo is well composed and the colours are nice.

Hi Gerrit,the remote villages deserves still more suprises, like the child smiling in front of a tourist camera and not looking for money as usual in a very polular touristic places.Very nice scene after the difficult road taken in the usual top quality and bright colors. Dergelijke foto's maken me blij, alleen al omdat we kinderen zien spelen, gewoon op een aardenweg, bij ons uitgesloten!
Allemaal met een vriendelijke lacht naar een camera, van een vreemde man.
U creëert mooi diepte en heerlijke kleuren.

Maybe these playful kids were impressed by your property of being taller than average stature in their country or rather were they inviting your group for a cycle race from this 'official' starting line :)
Anyways with such attentive smiles they provide a sympathetic big welcome to visitors!
