Photographer's Note
This is the melancholic face of Maya (20) who was forced to join the prostitution after being tortured brutally. Many young girls like Maya come to Chittagong for a promised better job and finally delivered to sex trade agents who typically beat, rape or terrorize them to join the trade.
The scars in her chin have a different story. She looks pretty and thats why she 'was' in great demand of the customers. She earned better than other sex workers. One day, some of them caught her in a desolate place and cut her chin with razor blade.

Even with the scars she has a beautiful face. Her eyes speak. Excellent shot.

Beautiful expression on Maya's face, quite enigmatic but still very peaceful.

I think this woman is beautiful. The scars tell her story, reminds the crualty of human beings but cannot take away her beauty.
