Photographer's Note
I want to share with you part of my recollections.
I took this photo by my first camera Kiev-19 when I've visited my motherland last time. It was 10 years ago :(
I've found this old negative film inside the book.
It shows the part of Shirvanshahs palace (Şirvanşahlar sarayı) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. This complex was build in XV-XVI cc & included in UNESCO World Heritage list. I think that this minaret has perfect shape & I like to look at it from time to time for few minutes when meet its image in the net.
I know that this is not very quality photo but it's sad to me that my motherland still not painted over in orange color on my world map.

Selam Iskander!
On the contrary, I think this photo is great. Of course, it is a little bit cut from the bottom but it has fine colours and definitely a magical atmosphere of the old times... Congratulations!

Hi Iskander,
this is a good picture of a wonderful building rarely seen on the net. Nver mind the quality of the image. The picture makes me want to visit Azerbaijan, what more can you expect from a picture? Thanks also for the good note you provided.

The mosques in Azerbaijan fascinate me. I love how it is architecurally a mix of Persian (the iwan and dome) and Ottoman Turkish (the grey color and minaret.) And yet it is also uniquely Azeri. Thanks for the image!
