Photographer's Note

A young boy taking a break after lugging water on his donkey- to help his father make mud bricks for their new house. In the villages, children are often given the chore of retrieving water for the family, which in this case comes from the village's only water source- a nearby river. Many times I saw little 3 and 4 year olds (with their little twig switches) somehow leading these large beasts, twice their size, from the river to their homes. It never ceased to amaze me.
