Karnak Quartet, a photo from Luxor, Inland

Photographer's Note

A view looking south from near the central Hypostyle Hall in Karnak. I have cloned out a disturbingly large bg yellow crane poking up from the modern city 2 km away, and a light pole fixture for the sound & light laser show at left, which also looked out of place. The statues are probably of Ramesses II & Amun Re. The seated statue far right can be better seen here.

Very photogenic place, i think that there's a shot can be made at every turn! The spectacular sculptures shows up really well with lovely detail and contrast of colour in this image with the enthusiasts well included in the frame. It's well worked point of view! Congrats

Hello Chris,
This looks like one of the nicest parts of the Karnak temple. The clonings were well done. I can't find any traces of crane or light pole. It's a very sharp photo with fine light and colours, and the four statues are well placed in the foreground. Three tourists are typically standing in the hot and sunny area (and probably you too), but the Egyptian man wisely keeps in the shade, where he is hardly visible.

Hello Chris, I guess that there are opportunities at every turn for some fascinating shots in this place.
This is an excellent point of view.
This time you were able to include some people, always useful to help our concept of scale.

This is a fine, sharp photograph capturing the large statues of the pharaohs with excellent clarity, whilst the avenue guides us deeper into the temple.
It was a good idea to include some figures for they immediately help us to assess the gigantic scale.

The blue sky is the perfect background for the ancient building and the four sculptures in the foreground, whose smooth shapes look really beautiful as well. The people add a sense of scale.

looks these statues, so well preserved, weren't located in this place before, because the temple ahead looks so ruinous.. anyway an excellent image. TFS the place I couldn't to visit.
