Not only black, a photo from Tunis, North

Photographer's Note

A second photo from the Tunisian medina, this time no cats but a couple of young women. It is never easy to capture female characters, even if this country is much more liberal than others in which the Muslim religion prevails. However I preferred to take pictures from behind without being seen to avoid any problems. I liked the bright colors of their veils that go well with the yellow of the door in the background. NON SOLO NERO

Una seconda foto dalla medina di Tunisi, questa volta niente gatti ma una coppia di giovani donne. Non è mai facile catturare personaggi femminili, anche se questo paese è molto più liberale rispetto ad altri in cui prevale la religione musulmana. Comunque ho preferito fotografare da dietro senza farmi vedere per evitare ogni problema. Mi sono piaciuti i colori brillanti dei loro veli che si sposano bene col giallo della porta sullo sfondo. lovely the colors in this image. the light and sharpness were perfect too and the traditional dress of the women added a special local mood. excellent, like a painting.

A good daily life photo with those two ladies in black, but with two colourful head scarves. The red and blue go really well together with the yellow door in the background, those colours stand out from the grey walls as well.

when you are visiting a country you should always respect the culture! If no photos of women are allowed, don't photograph them. If the women are treated as inferior to men, well what should you do then?...
I suppose that means you can photograph them if you want.
Interesting colors. I like in particular the pink shoes.

Hello Luciano,
As a street photo this is fairly average. Anyone can take a picture of two persons from behind. But as a composition I like it, because of the combination of distinct colours. And of course I am fully aware of how sensitive it can be to take photos of women in Muslim cultures, even though Tunisia is not one of the most conservative countries. But you get a smiley for the red, blue, black and yellow.

Hello Luciano,

I have never seen such vivid scarves only some versions suitable for swimming, but those were black. These scarves fit the yellow door in the bg. very well. Thanks for sharing this interesting glimpse of everyday life.

Luciano, two local ladies are walking together in Tunis medina. They follow the traditional dress code : a long black clothing with a shell. They can choose their shell favorite color. Good image quality, interesting photo note, regards.

Carefull when you take such a picture again, my friend, the local people can be very "touchy" about photo of their women, Luciano.
Yet, the colors contrast and the movement suggested by the scene was nicely collected in the old town area.

This brightly coloured red and blue veils immediately gives a much more attractive image than an entire black outfit.
The pink shoe fits in nicely with this and the yellow completes this beautiful composition.

In Islamic countries, traditional clothing is of great importance and it would be interesting to know what the color of the veil means, perhaps belonging to a clan or an age group

I agree both the colors and composition add nice value to this peaceful image. These older doors are so cool to see. An odd coating of paint - interesting way of opening, perhaps a string handle. Non si può perdere questa foto senza essere colpito dalla forza delle macchie di colore. Complimenti per aver catturato questa immagine al templo giusto. Non mi piacciono molto i burka, ma almeno queste due giovani donne sono riuscite a sfidare la tristezza del tutto nero.
