Photographer's Note

This is from shooting from the hip - the technique I really love in street photography when the opportunity permits. I happened to come across this curious friendly man in a small alley in Hammamet who was trying to engage a conversation in French to me. The Tunisians in general are incredibly welcoming everywhere I went even though I dont speak the language.

Maintaining a low profile by keeping people from reacting to a camera being around has always been my goal. This is a quick triggered guesstimate shooting upwards without looking through the viewfinder at 4fps to centralize my subject of interest.

The greatest fun was when he was totally unaware when my camera was put into action stealing the precious moment. From out of four frames, this was only one usable shot as seen by the sensor. With widest lens I get much more interesting perspective allowing viewers to feel as if they are part of the whole scene.

Just a simple humanity subject that I really love capturing and nothing to shout about....
