Photographer's Note

Tabarka is located in the northwest of Tunisia, in a picturesque area between mountains and sea. Tabarka is promoted by the Tunisian government as a tourist destination and does meet most of the requirements a modern traveler might have. The area is great for hiking and other outdoor activities. The waters around the area abound with fish and coral, making it a good place for fishing, scuba diving and underwater photography. Nearby are excellent golf courses.
Tabarka was obviously a favorite of the Romans too as they left their mark on the region-towns which can now be visited by history-loving

Hello Luciano,
A well constructed composition that puts castle and town in context. Fine colours and good sharpness throughout. The threatening sky makes for a particular mood.

The series about Tunisia is very, very good!
This is another wonderful picture!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, dof, colors, pp, contrasts, horizontal format, black & white borders and composition are all outstanding features here!
Highlights are those menacing dark grey clouds and the possibility of seeing the city in the distance!

Ciao caro Luciano,
qualitativamente ti ho visto far di meglio, forse era meglio lasciar perdere l'HDR e lavorare più sui veri colori (parere personalissimo). In ogni caso resta sicuramente apprezzabile la composizione nel suo complesso ed il buon POV, che ti ha permesso di catturare anche una eccellente profondità di campo.

Dobar dan iz Cuprije, Srbije.
Vrlo lepo i interesantno mesto sa bogatom sadrzajem za turiste.
Lep pogled pored zidova stare tvrdjave, na zeleno drvece, deo grada i tmurne oblake koji su se spojili sa planinom.

E così sei stato a Tabarka,eh?
Ma la sai la storia di questa città? Dal 1542 fino all'1738, l'isolotto era abitato da dei pescatori di spugne liguri prevenienti da Pegli. Poi cacciati dai tunisini si sono stabiliti nell'isola di San pietro in Sardegna dove ancora vivono. chissà se a Tabarka c'è ancora qualcuno che si ricorda di loro.. se non sbaglio la fortezza che hai fotografato è stata costruita dai genovesi..
Mi piace la composizione e la vista, anche se rimango convinto che senza l'HDR avresti ottenuto - o potuto ottenere - un risultato migliore.

Luciano, c'est une photo qui me plait énormément et retranscrit ces atmosphères qui surviennent trop rarement.

fantastic work here.
The POV is very well chosen showing some of the walls and a beautiful panorama in the distance. The clouds are very dramatic and weather seems to be pretty bad but you made a good use of it. The processing created a great effect.

sono rimasta indietro nelle tue foto e comincio da questa che è davvero bellissima. Il POV che hai scelto è di grande effetto e lascia scivolare lo sguardo lungo le mura del castello fino in fondo con un susseguirsi di piani tutti diversi fra loro e tutti bellissimi. Splendidio cielo.

This is a nicely framed shot with the castle wall leading the eye to the town. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness. The dark clouds provide nice contrast for the brightly lit foreground.

I particularly like this one because I also had the opportunity of visiting this castle a few years ago. We stayed at one of the hotels next to the beautiful beach that can be seen in the lower left part of this picture.

Inspite the overcast aloft, there is a good view on the town and coast-line, with mountains framing the horizon.
The castle is in close range and scaling the image.
