Photographer's Note

Hout Bay which is located about 25 km south of Cape Town CBD is one of the many picturesque bays surrounding the "Mother City", and it still has reminders of the by-gone days......numerous old cannons. If you travel past the Hout Bay waterfront, marina and harbour, heading towards the Sentinal mountain, you will come to one of the best fish n'chips takeaway "joints" in the area. After buying your lunch, there's a great spot within a few metres where you can sit on the grass and enjoy the scenery of the bay, whilst viewing these old cannons along the waters edge.
As is evident from the white droppings on the cannon, you have to protect your food from the hungry seagulls flying overhead.....they are very confident and will only take a second to swoop down and clain your tasty Hake and chips/french fries.....but the view is worth the challenge.
