Photographer's Note

Being inspired by this post by daddo, here is my version.

Steenbras Dam
This is on the road from Gordons Bay on the R44 heading south and then take a left, 2km after leaving GB. This 4km road leads up to Kogelberg mountain to Steenbras Dam. The Streenbras Dam is primarily a water source for the City of Cape Town.

The View
It's a few hundred meters from sea level and the cloads are too low to pass the mountain so they just stay there. The top offers magnificent views of the Helderberg, Cape Peninsula as far as Table Mountain and even as far as Cape Point. Very windy place.

It is always very quiet on top but sometimes you see young couples that are in love doing... well I don't know, enjoying the view I guess. Very romantic place. (:

I took this picture hanging out of my car window going up. I loved going there, escaping the busy life on ground level. Doing a bit of reading in the car or just listening to the radio.
