Photographer's Note
The day when we arrived at our hotel in Drakensberg, the weather was very bad with freezing rain ( sleet ) and thunderstorm.
The next morning , the weather was slightly improved. So I took the chances and decided to go to Sani Pass and Lesotho Tour , no matter what weather. Luckily, the weather was fairly good.
Well, as you can see in the pictures, it was very misty on top of the mountain peak enough to see the everchanging colours on the slopes.
The highest point of the Sani Pass is about 2900 m. Definitely need a warm/windproof jacket. The only way to the top is by the 4x4 vehicle because the road is rough it can be very bumpy for some. The best of all, at the Lesotho border we got a stamp on our passport just being in the Lesotho for couple of hours and back to South Africa border again. Time for lunch in the highest pub of South Africa. Unfortunately, the famous hairpin twists view of Sani Pass covered with low clouds.
I'll add 2 more on WS.
WS1 - must have been a wildfire ( some patches ) during in the very very dry summer.
WS2 - an Adder snake I think. Was found dead on the roadside. Hidden dangers lurking , one has to be very careful while wandering on this rocky slopes.

Hello Loong,
You chose a lovely panorama view with the slope of the mountains.
The rocks between the green area make your picture attractive and contrasted.
Also a excellent panorama about the area.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Loong,
It's a very wild and impressive scenery, not surprisingly reminding me of what I saw in nearby Lesotho. Most stunning are the many tones of green, yellow and orange, as well as the rocks cutting through the grass in many places. The mist seen in the distance indicates it was a rather cold day, far from our imagination of a subtropical paradise. The WS with the lonely tree is well composed.
Thanks for your comments earlier. I appreciate your critiques because you show that you really looked at the photos and reacted to them some way or another.
Have a nice weekend.

Hello Loong,
Such a beautiful landscape photo, which offers an excellent view down the pass. I like the variety of the gently sloping hills with some higher and steeper cliffs. Also the colours are nice and natural.

We do not see many picture from this region on Te, Loong.
the barren land offers wonderful colorsand "wave" shaped slopes, and some rocks on sides.
Good evening,
Ike

Hello Loong,
It may have been a cold and slightly misty day but the varying brown and green hues cast a really attractive, patchwork pattern across the whole scene.
The rock-exposed, cliff edge stands out as a feature and is well positioned on the thirds line.
The w/s add a greater sense of emotion; the snake, sadly squashed and the tree, sadly burned. It makes us immediately aware of the possible dangers in this otherwise peaceful environment.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)
Thank you for your fun and thoughtful critiques.

Hi Loong,so not a lucky day talking about the weather, but enough to take excellent view from this place not often seen on TE. The main one reminds a bit Tuscany watching the colors and hill formations,2 useful WS too, especially the dead snake. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Loong, a fascinating landscape, I would love to know the geology of this area and how the land was formed.
An excellent composition, and I like that there is no sky in this shot, we can concentrate solely on the textures and colours.
The w/s shot of the burnt tree is another excellent picture, and once again we see the wonderful formations of the scenery.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hello Loong,
In South Africa September is the end of winter, I believe. Your mountain pass reached an altitude of 2.900 m.
So I understand it must have been very cold then.
You present us here a very beautiful landscape.
The composition is very good and the distance between the rocks on the left and the rolling hills and the mountains on the background adds good depth to the picture.
We find many different colours on these hills.
Interesting photos in the WS too.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Loong, When you are travelling, you must go whatever the weather is. And finally, you had it not so bad. Amazing landscape in this area. You were a few hours in Lesotho, but we the stramp in your passport you can say you have been in a new country. Sad to see such a big beautiful snake dead by the road. I am fascinated by reptiles.
Best regards Malgo
