Photographer's Note

The town of Graaff Reinet, situated in the Midlands of the Eastern Cape, is the fourth oldest town in South Africa, and home to more than 220 official heritage sites and buildings.

Reinet House is one of the most important historic buildings, both from an architectural as well as a cultural perspective. It was built in 1812 as a Dutch Reformed Church parsonage and today it is the home of the Graaff Reinet museum.

This picture was taken in the late afternoon with heavy rain clouds moving in overhead.
