Photographer's Note

These 'pebbles' are simply wet sand (from the previous night's rain) that are still resisting the continual wind that blows over the dunes. I was amazed at the delicately eroded contours that can be seen on the surface of the shapes.

Interesting fact: The area around Port Alfred is known to have the second largest (after the Sahara) sand dunes in the world.
