Hello Chris - I am not really a bird fan but this shot is exceptional. The detail in the bird is so well defined and it stands out well against the soft grey backdrop. An elegant presentation. Welcome to TE, it's nice to have another member from southern Africa. Best regards Rosemary

Hi Chris.
A very pleasing shot to see - not many bird photos make it on to TE. This one is graceful, sharp and very well exposed. The tail feathers and branch make an interesting forked shape upon which the bird's neck arches elegantly against the soft greyish background. Good control of the highlights on the bird's neck and plumage.
