Photographer's Note
The theme called 'THE TWO FACES'.
I'm back with the wildlife of South Africa.
I've seen from different national Parks.
The main photo , the Elephants in Kruger NP. The three 'Big Brothers' but the other
one, was too far away in front. Our guide ( driver ) knew them very well.
The WS1 - the Hippopotamuses in St. Lucia Wetland Park. Very aggressive and
dangerous. We were on a boat, luckily.
The last one WS2 - the Girrafes in Hluhluwe NP, the Kingdom of the Lions ( previous post).
The 'Two Faces' , I don't mean 'Two-Faced' :-)

Hello Loong,
Nice series with three pictures of wild-life in real - not a zoo photos.
The idea of two upon each animal, was superbly applied.
Elephants are impressive animals, but my preferences are for the Giraffe's, a lovely animal.
Good evening,

Hello Loong,
Fantastic close-up double portrait of these elephants. Superb sharpness and clarity. The details of their skins are very clearly visible, also in this warm sunlight.

Hello Loong,
A good lens can do wonders, so we get an impression you were dangerously close to these giant animals. But I guess you were very safe at a reasonable distance. That doesn't make this photo any less dramatic or less impressive. The tight crop is part of the impression of closeness. So are the WS, where we also feel very close to the animals. Perhaps a slight pity about the cut off nose of one giraffe, but that's what could happen in a hurry.
Thanks for your comments on my photos from Pontianak. I don't remember the circumstances of taking them, but I guess I must have been standing in similar narrow bridges as those we can see.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello foxy, Just yesterday I saw the romantic movie Traumschiff : South Africa. These movies are so funny! The main protagonists went by a jeep somewhere and saw all the animals in just a few hours - rhinoceroses with babies, lions, cheetah, elephants with babies, hyenas, whatever. (I watch these movies in German, in Youtube, to learn the language).
Isn't it a great joy to see the wild animals just in their habitat, not in the zoo? I saw a lot of elephants in Botswana and many animals in Etosha. But not the Big Five - the leopards are difficult to see.
Great close up of theses very big faces. Haven't you been afraid to be so near?
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Loong,
I think most of us have a soft spot for elephants because they are so intelligent and so family orientated.
This is an interesting close-up, showing excellent, textural details of their quite rough skin.
The hippos look close, in your w/s.
You were right to give them a wide berth, they are extremely dangerous animals.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Loong,
Very impressive tightly framed shot of these elephants. Tele objective brings theme right next to each other. Skin texture is well presented.

Hello Loong,
Excellent close-ups of these wild animals.
I especially like the photo of the hippos and the one of the elephants that make the dust fly up.
You framed all three shots tightly which was an excellent idea.
Best regards, Paul

Olá Loong,
bonito close nesses elefantes, os detalhes da pele ficaram bem nítidos, assim como bonita a luz e cores mais suaves.
Parabéns e Abraço,
Lucas

Hi Loong
I had to choose this one from your gallery, its not too often we see Elephant photos on TE. and even in general we just don't see these, so its cool to examine the skin of the elephants up close like this. I've enjoyed it very much.
cheers
Craig
