Photographer's Note

These two towers are iconic to Soweto, South Africa. The Orlando Power Station was a coal-fired power station established to serve Johannesburg after WWII. It was in operation for 56 years until being decommissioned in 1998. The artwork is outstanding, and can be seen at great distance across the horizon. They stand as a part of history, highlighting the heart and soul of this historically bittersweet region of South Africa. The community of Soweto is courageous and beautiful.
