Photographer's Note

I'm going back to a wildlife picture from the Seychelles with this one. This picture of the Seychelles Blue Pigeon was taken on Aride Island,Seychelles. This species is indemic to the Seychelles and occurs nowhere else, usually preferring to stay high up in the canopy they can be hard to spot and are still relatively rare as they used to be shot for food.

In this instance the bird was perched in a patch of scrub just in front of my porch of the place I was staying. As with most of the birds on this island in the Seychelles they are often ignorant to any human activity going on around them and with this one in particular it was incredible how close I could get to the bird and it would not flinch. I'll post a further close up as a workshop too.
