Photographer's Note

This is a picture of a Seychelles Magpie Robin adult about to feed the chick who is calling for food. The Seychelles Magpie Robin is an endangered species of which there are only around 200 individuals present and are only found in the Seychelles islands.

This picture was taken on aride island nature reserve on which there is a stable population of 23 or 24 individuals. When this picture was taken the chick had only been fledged for a week or two and was staying quite high in the canopy making it very difficult to get the right shot. Being in the woodland cover also made it difficult to get enough light in the lens and get a fast enough shutter speed to stop the action and perhaps i just about managed it.
