Photographer's Note

When you travel you test in a more concrete way the action of the Rebirth. You have to face new situations, the day pass more slowly and, in the most greater part of the cases, you don't understand the spoken language. It's really what happens to a just-born-child.
So you are forced to give a lot of more importance to the things that surround you, because your survival depends on them. You starts to be more open to the others, because the others can help you in the difficult situations. And it is welcomed any small favor of the gods with great joy, as if it dealt like an episode to remember for the rest of the life.
At the same time, since all the things turn out as new, you perceives only the beauty, and you feel more happy to be alive.

My first day in Senegal in search of good light on the way to Mauritanian border at barrage de Djama, not far from the colonial town of Saint-Louis.
