Photographer's Note
Namib desert is the oldest – some say 70 million years
Is the result of the meeting of cold stream from Antarctica (the Bonguale stream) with the African continent.
The characteristic is pure colored (mostly reddish) send, piled up to create up to 300 meters of nothing but send
Climbing those hills is like the Tango: 1 meter up & 2 meters down
The picture was taken before sunset and scanned with primitive home scanner )-:

I love the contrast between the warm red dunes and the cold blue background. The shape of the dunes are excellent and the low sun produces some exciting shadows.
It is a pity that the picture is a bit blurred, maybe it was the primitive scanner?

Wow - such a pure shape, sculpted by the wind. Excellent contrast between dune and the valley behind, and the light is perfect. Good note too!

Bravo! I love your picture. The contrast is beautiful, the evening sun on the dunes make a super color, too bad for the blur.

Breathtaking view with almost unreal color. Well captured. I particularly like how your eye is drawn to the bright areas in the foreground, then led by the line of the dune deeper into the frame.

The contrast of the soft orange/yellow colors and the cool blue is very nice!

Great colour contrast of red & blue. Well lit & composed. I would have desaturated the colour a little by about 5-10%.

I just come upon this. Agree with most of the comments, except I think I wouldn't desaturate, the strong colours are part of what makes the shot. Worth the climb.

Simply breathtaking!! Love the hues of orange and yellow; then to also have it showing against the cold blue. Nicely done.

I like this one better than the other... I like the shadowing and the view past with some vegetation / Life past these huge walls of sand...
