Photographer's Note

Begging, IMO, is a competitive field of "career" in Morocco. In Fez, I saw beggars everywhere. To draw the attention of the tourists, these beggars position themselves on a very conspicuous and/or interesting place. They have to do something "catchy" to catch the attention. And this picture tells one of the many stories...

He was in deep concentration and i even thought he was praying. However, I saw one tourist giving him an alm and he didn't complain. He "placed" himself somewhere at the end of the rainbow. Close to him was a wooden ladder, something that he might need to gain access to that proverbial "gold". What I gave him was not any close to the value of the gold but what he gave me was this "golden" pose. I am surely indebted.
