Photographer's Note

The fg road didn't add much to the composition, so I cropped it. A line of horses and colourful carriages I spotted waiting patiently for tourists. They are known locally as calèches. I preferred to walk. The sights are close together in the central city.

Hello Chris,
You had some exercise and didn't need to haggle about the price by walking. I would also rather take photos of these horses and their carriages than actually going with them. The trees and bushes provide a nice background and match the green parts of the carriages.

Hello Chris,

Yes the empty road would not have assisted the interest in this photograph but the horses and carriages, placed on a diagonal line, create a lot of interest.
The green decoration seems standard in the carriages and is very effective in creating a natural link to the green vegetation behind.
The horses do look well cared for, not like some of the donkeys that are photographed.

Les arbres cadrent bien la scène. La prise de vue permet d evoir les détails des chevaux et des carioles. La lumière rehausse la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
The thumbnail made me already think of Marrakech.
The vegetation and palms provide a fantastic backdrop to this city scene.
I also walked a lot in Marrakech. A much cheaper form to drive around than this horse-drawn carriage is the hop on hop off bus. I was amazed how many sights these busses combined (except of course the small streets in the medina).
'Calèche' is the French word used in Morocco.

Hi Chris,i remember well the lot of carriage for tourist,especially close to the main square,but i can't recognize the place in this pic. A colorful and excellent composition,surely a moment of crisis because Covid for them too. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Most of Marrakech is for walking , getting lost and then finding all sorts of interesting scenes. I did see tour groups making use of the calèches a bit.
Good street photo of what are impressive looking carraiges.

Hello Chris, Nice green carriages. But we do not see the drivers nor customers. I used such carriages in Bagan and in Luxor, and it was fun, first to negotiate the price and then to ride. But usually I just prefer to walk. Beautiful vegetation in the background.
