Photographer's Note

One more example of beautiful colours of Marrakech, with a nice stormy sky (but it finally didn't rain on Marrakech that day). I took this photo along the very long Mohammed 5th avenue that links Jemaa el-Fna square in the medina to 16th november square in Gueliz, the modern quarter of Marrakech. Mohammed 5th was the sultan of Morocco from 1927 to 1957 when Morocco was a french colony and he was the first king of independant Morocco (1956) until he died in 1961. Because of this many people consider him as the father of modern moroccan nation.
