Photographer's Note
The world is warped. Always has been. Always will be.
Carry on. :)
Taken in late evening over the dunes of the Erg Chebbi, near the seasonal lake of Yasmina. One of the local Berbers heads for parts unknown. Well, unknown to me anyway

Hi Clifton,
I have always loved desertscapes and this one is wonderful. I like the rolling sand dune after sand dune creating a nice effect with the light and shade. The berber just adds that bit of life and dash of bright colour, but without him it would make a nice abstract shot too.

Hi Clifton,
The world may be warped in many ways, but this image reflects simplicity, natural harmony and a sense of peace, space and tranquility. Your composition is refreshing with the man in this vast open desert....the clarity and soft "texture" of the dunes and sand is exceptional. Well captured.
Cheers Grant

Hi Clifton,
One layer after the other, this desert seems endless... That’s the beauty of it, a striking view over an impressive location. The golden sand modulated by light is captivating. Your subject, perfectly placed in your composition looks lost in this sea of dunes; it’s the whole idea, the key element of this moroccan image.
Well seen!

Beautiful composition in layers. The sand dunes seem to create waves as the go deep into the background. The colours and the good placement of th man on the right make for an awesome composition. Pleasant to see with good clarity and details. Thanks Clifton.

A killer shot, Cliff, technically very proficient, and lovingly composed. All these layers, these "strata". I believe this is one of the more stunning shots in all TE to be honest. What can ya do ;o)?
Well done!

Excellent. The blue of the human figure makes the difference.
I was trying to imagine the picture without the upper part, the one with the dunes in foreground. I am not sure which is the best.

Hi Clifton,
Great shot! I'm crazy about the desert. I worked in Sudan for half a year. A hard environment to work in, but the desert trips were just great. But very different from what you are showing here.
Great sharpness at 300mm. Nice equipment helps, I know. ;-) I like how the edges of the dunes are sharp and contrasting with the softness of the sand. The local guy in it is just making it complete. Nice one!

Well Cliff
wonderful ambience in this warped world :)
Wonderful alternation of lights and shadows, beautiful warmth colors and great clearness, exceptional the POV. Goodness knows where goes the Berber? Which Yasmina attracts it? One woman or the lake...
Have a nice day

Hi Clifton,
Amazing! Use of tele, seemingly endless dunes and low light that makes different layers so visible create a fantasy. And the person brings flash of colour exactly on the right place.
To the favourites.

One of the best dune shots I've ever seen thanks to all those shadows and light among the layers and the human factor with that smashing blue outfit. Congrats.

Dramatic dunes, Clifton
Superb landscape shot with amazing waves of the dunes. Light and shadow created dramatic effect on them from the front then faded to the dunes far away. They're in a good composition with local guy.
Dramatic surface of our earth.

could a desert be more beautifully portrayed? i doubt!....
this is stunning, clif, you had a gorgeous light and you made use of it perfectly...
i also like the crop at the top - drastically narrowing the view just to the sand dunes...
love this image all the way...
best wishes, jerzy

Bonsoir Clifton
très belles successions de ces dunes qui donnent un graphisme très agréable. La lumière joue un grand rôle dans la compo. Bonne présence du personnage pour apporter le côté vivant à la scène. Bravo

Great composition. I love the background, especially how the dunes just keep on going with no sky in the photo. Each dune contrasting with the dune it follows. The blue of the Berber's robes really stands out also.
Nice catch.

Hello Clifton, this is absolutely fantastic shot, big plus is that it is taken on my favorite place and above all on my birthday :-) Great choice for composition with just right place for the Bedouin with wonderful layers of dunes. Even I've just came from great trip myself I feel like sitting on a plane and flying there myself. Lucie

Excellent shot. To be picky, maybe I miss some sky instead of the last pale dunes. Great idea to fit a person in the frame. The gradients on the dunes are fantastic, continuous, no posterizing nor noise.
