Photographer's Note

The photo was taken during my trek in the Mgoun massif. The Mgoun massif was the most amazing thing that I saw during my one month stay in Morocco. This region is not spoilt by the tourists yet, but it will change soon, because there are plans to connect the villages of the massif with pave roads… I was walking alone 10 days and during this time I met 4 organized groups and one brave not organized – French bickers… The region is inhabited by Berber people. They are very nice and helpful. I have never eaten so much food in the mountains. The Berbers were giving me something to eat all the time. They live simple in stone and mud houses like in medieval. They do not have electricity and running water. Most of them work in agriculture. Some of them produce handicrafts. At the photo you can see two sad Berber girls in traditional cloths. Why they were sad I do not know…
