Photographer's Note

The city market. The floor is covered by cereals, lettuce leaves and other left overs. The animals are out of their cages. The smell is intense and the heat rises.
The youngsters cover their faces with their hats when they see the camera, afraid we might take a piece of their souls. The elder one smiles and let's us know that he's got nothing to lose at this point of his life.

Great photo, Katherine, and I love your note. Wonderful face on the old man - the subject here is so interesting, the context is very good, colours and composition are both great. Maybe you could burn the slightly overexposed area to the left but regardless, I like this shot very much.

I love this scene , daily life portrait and exotic testimony about this crossroads city between two worlds , one of the gates to Africa . Perfectly captured that spontaneous gestures in those people and charming atmosphere you 've accomplished with that pic ! Besos
