Photographer's Note
Another picture from the Niger river harbour in Ségou, taken around the same time as my previous upload. These two boys were playing around with a young goat, splashing in the river, washing the animal and just having fun.
Ségou is a city in south-central Mali, lying 235 kilometres northeast of Bamako on the River Niger. It was founded by the Bozo people in 1620, on a site about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the present town. With 100,000 inhabitants, it is now the third largest city in Mali.
analogue shot, no zoom, frame added
in WS the original colour version, which I like as well, not sure which one I prefer in fact, I uploaded this one to try out something new...

hello Benny,
I must say I prefer the colour version, here the lack of contrasts leave everything a bit washed out. other than that - great shot, I like a lot the water drops on the boy's elbow and the goat's look of total resignation :)
with best regards,
Kristine

la version noir et blanc donne plus de force à cette photo. Le regard des enfants est magnifique tout comme leur expression.

Nice scene. Compliments, Chris

The other day I wrote how sick I was about all "they are so innocent" and bla, bla, bla about kids in photos and life, and that I wanted photos of kids that tell things, and this is a perfect example... No first world child would be doing something like this with a coat, this photo tells me about a part of the world, where a funny situation could means a more serious way of surviving.
Take care Benny.

This shot is perfect in B&W.
Much better than the colored one.
Lovely composition with these little boys and their goat.
They have a playful smile on their face.
Well done!

Hi Benny.Lovely shot that captures the joy of youth, the warmth of the sun and sea and the bond between man and beast. I like this sepia brownish look although the skin tones are more dramatic in the original when seen against the yellow shorts.Regards. Klaudio.

Bonsoir benny,

Hello Benny,
I believe that sometimes colors distract the mind from the main message of a photo. As a B&W photos lover, I really like the black and white tones of this shot. Well done!
Have a nice weekend,
Abbas
